Land of Enchantment

I couldn’t think of a clever title. But, New Mexico is enchanting us so far. The heat and sun is very welcome after Oregon’s rain and clouds. Don’t get me wrong, I like Oregon’s fall weather, but not in June!

Today we have laid by the pool, and are getting our sunburn/tan on, for sure. Gotta remember to pace, ’cause it will be a long week. The current activity is watching world Cup, then the soccer players will take off to practice.

I will catch you up on the sightseeing portions of our 4-day driving trip. As I mentioned in a previous post, The Grand Canyon was fantastic. Such magnificent views. Saturday we stopped at Petrified Forest National Park. It’s quite a geology lesson. Beautiful!

We arrived in Albuquerque last evening to a hotel filled with familiar friendly faces. Most of the two soccer teams are staying at the same hotel. It’s very family oriented and comfortable. Soccer tournament starts tomorrow with Jordan’s team, Atlas playing at 8AM. Nic’s team, Boca Juniors play at 12:30 PM.

One more thing, I will admit I am a big nerd who likes to play the license plate game on road trips. So far we are only missing 12 states. That’s all for now!
